What does 3XDRY® technology mean to you? It keeps you dry on the outside and dry on the inside all at the same time, ensuring constant comfort. The nylon fabric repels moistures and stains from the exterior of the Hat. The interior polar fleece transports moisture to the exterior of the Hat where it evaporates, ensuring comfort. The Hat also dries significantly faster than other fabrics after outdoor activities or washing. The soft and breathable polar fleece interior works to keep your head cosy and comfortable during the coldest days.
Like all Tilley Hats the 'Soft Shell' Winter Hat is crushable and packable, easy to tuck-away in a bag when indoors and ready to be popped back into shape when headed outdoors. Tuck-away ear warmers in a comfy cotton/spandex blend keep not only ears warm but also offer 'staying power' in windy conditions. A secret pocket in the crown is large enough to hold credit cards, hotel key and some emergency cash. Typically Tilley, it is Guaranteed for Life not to wear out and insured for two years against all perils. The 'Soft Shell' Winter Hat is also sun protective. It has UPF 50+ protection, the maximum rating given.

SECRET POCKET:
Inside the crown is a good-sized pocket sealed with Velcro®. In it, carry your I.D., hotel key, $10 bill (in your case, a $20), plus a quarter for an emergency phone call.

CERTIFIED SUN PROTECTION:
The fabric and style of all Tilley Hats have been certified to block 98 percent of harmful UVA/UVB radiation and deliver an ultraviolet factor (UPF) of 50+, the maximum rating given.
You still need SPF 15 sunscreen and sunglasses with UV filters! Children especially need the UV filters in their sunglasses as non-filtering glasses will increase the size of their pupils, allowing even more of the damaging UV rays to enter. This often causes cataracts and retinal problems later in life and has happened in my (Alex Tilley's) own family.
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD:
Tilley Hat fits lower and more comfortably than other hats. The lower it sits, the larger at that point is one's head circumference. To find your Tilley size, simply measure around your head, just above the eyebrows. Tell us this measurement in inches or centimetres. We'll take it from there.
If you already know your regular hat size, please ask for one size larger when you order your Tilley. For instance, if you're sure you're a 7 1/4" order a 7 3/8".
If you give us the measurement (inches or centimetres) on the Sizing Guide on the website, we'll give you the right size. Or refer to our Hat Sizing Chart for the easy reference to your Tilley Hat size.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:
Machine or hand wash in cool water. Re-shape and air dry. Will dry in hours. Do not use fabric softeners.
